Hi FFOLKES, i fired up your bf2142 unlocks and it didn't work for me. Am i doing something wrong?
Nothing showed up just the usual weapons. I got Robairs working!My knife and pistol was there and i tried to cycle with the F key and still only 4 items, depending on unit.Hmmm!UPDATEDidn't realise a shortcut was created, i used BF2142 mod launcher and it didn't work. But after using your shortcut it worked perfectly.
Just outta curiosity, how come the weapons are missing in the customisation screen. They're all blank except for one.Anyway nice one again FFOLKSY! Kewl hey, downloading now and wasting one more afternoon playing BF games. Years ago i asked myself if theres life after the age of 34.

I need clarification on the way the unlocks mod for BF2142 should be used.At the moment I have two folders in mods a bf2142 that has all of the moded for 32/64 nav meshed versions of the maps that are available here and also Robs Unlocks mod version3. The other folder is the original bf2142 renamed so that if I want to play online I just rename both folders accordingly.Do I copy the new extended maps to ffolks unlocked mod folder and then run the exe? I am trying to avoid conflicts with robs unlocked mod and any other problems.What is the simplest cleanest way of utilising the ffolkes mod and all of the moded maps? I just read the reply about the drones. How do they work. I just remembered the good old BF1942 days, and the fact, that Dice bought the 'shattered faith' mod and put most of their ideas in BF2142.Shattered faith (prolific games) made the 'Star Wars' mod (Galactic Conquest) for BF1942, and that mod had these drones (imperial probe droid), that have been used like vehicles.The Shattered Faith mod failed because of poor leadership, not because of anything DICE did. Quite a shame too, considering how much talent they had and how much work got poured down the drain unnecessarily.It is possible remote control objects may work in BF2142 like they did in BF1942, but it would require a fair amount of modding just to try it.But mods and remote drones are off topic, so if you want to discuss them more, please start a different thread.Thanks for the unlocks mod, Ffolkes.
I'm sure it will be quite popular. I have a question regarding the mod. I can't seem to access the drones (I've managed to access the beacon just fine.), even if I'm the squad leader. I've tried to use F and the mouse wheel to scroll through the weapons, but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?Make sure you are launching the mod from the shortcut. Do NOT copy the files to another mod folder.
In game, choose your kit, join squad, become squad leader, and hit your 'cycle weapons' key until you get to the drone. Once you have selected it click your mouse left button to activate the drone. The reason why they are missing is because all the default unlock weapon/tools info has been removed from the kits. EDIT- Ummm, one dum.ss question. I just read the reply about the drones. I never played BF2142 online and in the other unlock kits, i was just able to acess this 'stationary machine gun' and it sucked, because it was rotating like sh.t and i couldn't really aim with it.Also the UAV like drone was just hovering above my head, doing nothing but following me.Are these items like that, or can i enter the UAV drone to watch around corners like some kind of a vehicle or something like that?The Recon drone follows you and provides enemy locations to your squad members. The Sentry drone follow you and attacks enemies that have been identified by the NetBat system.
You do not enter or drive the drones. BTW, In your BF2 unlocks, didn't you add unlimited stamina?I had to add it to your unlocks.I also noticed that the customisation screen screen doesn't allow customization.I did not add the unlimited stamina because I wanted the users to play with only the unlocked Sprint abilities that were available to be unlocked on-line.As mentioned above, since the kits are pre-loaded you do not use the customization screen. EA/DICE has made sure the SP/Co-op community would only be able to use the unlocks you earned on-line. Hello,I've installed your BF2142 v1.01 unlocks. I have 2142 patched to v1.01 per your mod instructions, and the stock game is installed to the EA default directory/path.The mod installed with no problem, it starts and runs fine, using the mod.exe, I log into offline SP mode, select the stock 16 player map provided with the mod, it loads the map fine, I click on join game, pick my squad and kit.when I click on the 'Done' button I CTD everytime.The mod does this with both PAC and EU teams, different kits and on different maps. I've unistalled the mod, manually deleted the leftover unlocks mod folder and.exe and reinstalled the mod.
Same CTD problem.All my drivers are up to date, my drive is defragged, plus all the other usual computer maintenance stuff is up to snuff. I'm speced @: Turion ML44, on an nVidia nForce 4 chipset, through an 800MGHz FSB, 2GB PC3200, and 2 512MB nVidia 7900GTXs in SLI. I've got the graphics (including textures & geometry) dialed up to medium or higher (was reading the B2 CTD thread).I do have map mods for 32 or 64 single player maps installed in my stock 2142, I've also changed the AIdefault file to 48 Bots. NONE of which I've put into your mod yet.Any suggestions???

You do NOT use the customization screen since all the kits are pre-loaded.If you mean in-game on the weapon select menu after you have spawned/done, then I have a few questions below.Did you make any changes to the mod files/folders? If so, then you should not have. Just install the Unlocks mod and launch it from the desktop shortcut.Did you manually edit the path to the BF2142.exe during the mod installation? If so, then you should have let the mod installer find the executable from the Registry and let the mod install on its own.

Few posts ago I was having trouble working around with BF 2142's class ability unlocks, then I took a look at FFOLKES unlocks mod and figured it out. Hey I'm no modder so don't blame me for not figuring it out myself, yeah I cheated.What FFOLKES did was create 'dummy weapons' called Itemlock1 Itemlock2 etc.
And he included the class abilities in the weapons' tweak files! Then you just add those weapons in the kits and voila, works perfectly with no problems.Using this I made my own weapons mod that abides by the game rules: 1 rifle and 2 items only. And I'm having great fun with that setup.Problem is I STILL cant figure how to make the assault rifle Rocket item to work, it always always crashes in any game with bots, even after I used the same weapon folder that FFOLKS used. Those 32 & 64 player maps for single player were unstable. Of the 10 SP & MP maps, only 2 were playable as both PAC & EU. The other 8 were only playable as PAC. If I tried to play as the EU, when I clicked on the 'done' button to spawn into the game.they'd CTD, so that was likely causing FFOLKES unlocks mod to do the same.As an experiment, I'll do as you and FFOLKES suggest, and copy the Info and server.zip folders (for just ONE of the multiplayer maps) from the 32/64 player maps into the unlocks mod levels folder to see if it'll run.
If not.I'll still have the 5 16 player maps in FFOLKES mod uncontaminated. If the 32/64 MP map runs OK, I'll try one of the 32/64 player SP maps next (needless to say.I'll back up ALL the original FFOLKES mod Info & Server.zip files first!Great Mod BTW.really had a blast playing around with all the different weapons and abilities tonight! I can't get this to work with the dedicated server i use the server lancher delect the maps with the mod selected but when i click start it just plays 2142 as a modLooks like there is a problem with the latest 2142 Dedicated Server program. You have to run it from the command line. Review your default 2142 shortcut properties to see how they are different from the Unlocksv1.01 mod shortcut. Follow my instructions in the last paragraph of my reply to your 1st post as well as verify the mod did install to the BF2142 mods folder.EDIT: I was just informed that if you downloaded BF2142 using the EA Downloader it uses a different.exe instead of the default retail of BF2142.exe. I was told the new executable is BF2142Launcher.exe or BF2142PACE.exe.I need someone from the BFSP community to confirm this.
If this is true it makes no sense why EA would make that change. But then again we are talking about EA.If it is true then I will post a new shortcut program that includes that information for the Unlocksv1.01 mod. It's been confirmed that the EA Download users who purchased BF2142 do, in fact, use a different executable. I updated my first post in this thread with the following information.
However, I am NOT going to release an alternate mod install program since some EA Download users use different executables. Some modify the default (BF2142Launcher.exe) and just use BF2142PACE.exe. We have two different bf2142.exe files, which vary for some bytes in size. Since my DVD-version always claimed at start of BF2142 for the DVD to be in the optical discdrive, i have copied the.exe from my husband´s version over mine.
