I am playing through the revive project, and find its rather difficult to play, being a total newb in there. Get killed very often, and end up with a huge dilemma as to my unlocks. I have ranked up and gotten a few, but it would be easier to have some experience with all the unlocks and thus make a fully educated decision.I used to play a few months earlier, and I found the ffolkes unlocks mod to be pretty good, but it doesn't let you customise.I do not want to cheat online, and on single player it'd be great if the bots could use the unlocks as wellThanks!. First a general tip: Join a squad that gives orders, and get Field Upgrades. These are temporary unlocks, that can be used as long as you stay on the same server.
This is a sweet way to try out low level unlocks. For the advanced ones, I can give you some general tips.First of all, you want the defibrilator. When playing assault, look on your map for teammates that have an X in their icon. These are fallen comrades that you can revive. Each revive will give you a point and prevent one ticket lost in conquest, so its a good idea to do so.Secondly, get the general upgrades up to increased sprint recovery. More sprinting means less time wasted walking around, and it means you'll find yourself dodging and rushing more enemies. From here, it depends on your play style.Assault: If you tend to play a lot of assault, try getting the advanced Medkit.
This heals you and teammates faster, meaning you get more teamwork score. For the weapon unlock, if you kind of prefer the EU SCAR over the PAC Krylov, you might want to get the BAUR over the Voss for your assault.Support: Do you fight in Titans a lot? Do you prefer walking around over camping a corridor? Try getting the Clark 15-B Shotgun. Despite being a shotgun, it has a plenty of range for Titan interior and will one-shot at close range.
Do you prefer campy defense? Then try getting the A12 Sentry Gun and the IDS scanner. When placed at the center of a titan, it detects almost everyone inside like a UAV. Very handy.Engineer: The motion mines are a strong unlock for if you fight on vehicle maps (including Titan and larger conquests, like Suez Canal). The anti-air is a niche weapon, not very necesary in my opinion, especially for a beginner. If you roam the map inside vehicles a lot, it could be worthwhile to get the PDS scanner, and stick it on your vehicle.
Now you have a portable vehicle-only UAV centered on you.Recon: Do you attack titans a lot? Try getting the Lambert Carbine along with APMs.
Use RDX to blow up consoles (beware of friendly fire!), use the APMs to block reinforcement routes. Do you like sniping? Get the 4x zoom. It becomes MUCH easier to snipe when you can zoom for the headshot. If you still struggle, you can get the Gruber stabilizer. This functions like other FPS's hold-your-breath mechanic, and will make sure the crosshairs stay still for a while.
Personally, I prefer the standard snipers over the Zeller, because it only has 3 rounds per mag. Also, don't bother getting the sniper decoy, its useless.Squad Leader: Do you plan on being a squad leader? Take the beacon, and ALWAYS equip it. Even if you're not currently the leader. The current leader could disconnect, and you might be the next one. That makes it handy to carry one around.
I wouldnt bother with the other leader unlocks until you're more experienced. As for the order in which to get the specific unlocks, it really depends on your playstyle. Personally, I tend to play a lot of assault and recon (sniper), so I got the Medkit upgrade pretty fast.
I can manage with both the SCAR and Krylov, so I held off on getting the Voss for a while. I can't snipe properly without the zoom, and I like tracking targets that try to take cover, so I got the Recon NetBat upgrade along with the zoom.
For me, the shotgun is pure heaven. I also tend to fight in Titans a lot, so I got it pretty fast.If you have any further questions or dilemmas, feel free to post them here or add me in game, also under the name of Rhazior.
Thank you!I mostly really enjoy the medic/assault, but also love the support or Engineer's smg. The recon would be useful to me only if i got the Lambert, else I can't snipe for nuts. Are these unlocks available in single player? If yes, that's great.I can't seem to equip the spawn beacon anyways, on squads with 4 members (at least on the ffolkes unlocks mod, v1.20a which allows some semblance of customisation screen in single player)That being said, I just run around everywhere, but yes, the titans are my favourite. I am usually very impatient and tend to become very stiff when being shot at from close range (in front type) I guess I should change the controls or what?
I use the default controls.Thanks!. I just booted my single player and all my unlocks were available.I'm not sure how your mod works, but my regular kit customization works in singleplayer too. What do you mean by becoming stiff when shot from close range?Personally, I use the default controls. I edited my HUD so my cross hairs are fully red, making it easier to see your crosshairs and hitmarkers. You can change this in the settings.Playing singleplayer won't work towards getting unlocks. If you main the assault, a big tip is to press 3 (default) to alternate between semi and automatic fire.
Single bullet rounds cause less recoil and can be used to effectively take down soldiers at range. Also something I forgot, always, ALWAYS wear the heavy body armor. The extra sprint is not worth it unless you're very experienced.
By that i mean i just get too caught up shooting and forgetting to move, kind of (Definitely NOT living long if i do that in a real battlefield)The default controls are decent.I know! This feature is different on bf2, where you cannot get unlocks in sp without mods.
In 2142 you can, which is epic!in my post i guess i'm just asking if there's some mod which allows the customisation kit.The extra sprint is something i've been kind of hung up for today and yesterday (literally 20% of my total online 2142 experience, lol)The armour sounds sane, but i get killed anyway, and then start suspecting players of Aimbots or some cheats, which is silly of me. I know the changing of the firing mode, figured that out a long time back.the problem is, is there a quicker way to change weapons, other than scrolling or the keys which could still take a moment?thanks!.
Unfortunately you're stuck with the keyboard or scrolling, unless you have some sort of way of thought control. The keyboard should be plenty though, I never used anything else and my current overall K/D is 1.6.Speaking of botters, I only encountered one hacker thus far, which was a very obvious one. Keep in mind that a lot of players are veterans. I have more than 300 hours on the clock from before the revive.
My K/D sucked back in the day, but I was also learning. Feel free to add me if you want to squad up someday, I use VoIP and could give some guidance.
