To survive, the townspeople must break the cycle of destruction; they need a champion who can destroy the evil at its root. Removing the source of the rot may purify the Ember, but it is a long and perilous journey. I brought Torchlight from the Macupdate Promo because it looked promising (even if there is NO DEMO FOR MAC). BUTThis game is ONLY ONLINE!Every time you start Torchlight the app ist going online 'to check the serial number' again and again and again.!!So if you plan to play Torchlight in you vacation where you may not have online access: Forget it - it just doesn't work. Having been a big fan of the Diablo series since boyhood (and having played the hell out of the originals when they first came out), I can say with out reservation that I'm a fan of the series.Torchlight has the feel and mechanics that we're all familiar with, and then ups the ante by adding gorgeous graphics, great feel and play, tons of interesting monsters and so many special weapons/armor/items, that you'll start drooling every time you take out a big group or a boss.The developers also deserve a hand for removing many annoyances from this kind of game.
