What everyone else said. Create deployments to the built-in Unknown Computer objects and add the Install Update steps.Note that this hasn't been the most stable/reliable TS step. The second highest voted UserVoice item is to fix it:You will likely want to review and use the SMSTSSoftwareUpdateScanTimeout and SMSTSWaitForSecondReboot TS variables to handle it's shortcomings.Unless you're only deploying Window 10 and Server 2016 you'll probably want a build a capture TS that will at minimum deploy the OS, apply the backlog of patches, and capture it.

Yes, you can use the built-in servicing but that doesn't actually install everything so I recommend doing a B&C at least once. Deploying updates to the 'Unknown Computers' collections really has no effect on the actual availability of updates during OSD. I don't know why there are multiple blog articles suggesting that you need to do this, but you absolutely DO NOT need to do this. The ONLY benefit you get from deploying to 'Unknown Computers' is that the client will download all of the CI objects for the available updates, and store it in the rootccm WMI namespace, which could, in THEORY, make it a little faster.

But I doubt it.The best and most effective way to manage updates using the 'Install Software Updates' TS step is to make all applicable updates 'Available' to your 'All Clients' collection. That way, as soon as the agent comes up and is able to check for available Software Updates, the deployment is there and ready.
